The National Express Group is one of the largest public transport providers in the world. National Express provides bus, coach, train, tram and airport transfer services and it is estimated that over a billion passengers avail of these services around the world every year. National Express UK is headquartered in Birmingham and provides bus, coach, light rail, train and airport transfer services.
National Express Trains include intercity and rural passenger train services. The company operates two of the most well known train networks in the country – National Express East Coast and National Express East Anglia, which includes Stansted Express. The company also runs the c2c, the London commuter service.
National Express East Coast is the UK’s premier intercity rail network and operates fast and frequent services on the East Coast Main Line between London King’s Cross, the East Midlands, Yorkshire, the north of England and Scotland. The service carries 17 million passengers a year. National Express East Anglia is a train network from London Liverpool Street station to the East of England. The service carries 2 million passengers across the network every day. The Stansted Express which connects London to Standsted Airport is also part of this network.
C2C operates trains from Essex to the centre of London, linking towns in south Essex with London Fenchurch Street Station. The service carries almost 30 million passengers every year.
