Paris by Car
London and Paris are well connected by road, with several highways leading into Paris. Getting from the UK to France is also much easier these days thanks to the channel tunnel. But in spite of these conveniences, driving from London to Paris is still not the easiest or the most viable option. Firstly, it is a long drive, taking seven to nine hours. It is not cheap - getting your car through the channel tunnel costs £50 each way. You can also use the ferry to Paris from UK along with your car, but you will have to buy a ticket and pay for transporting you car as well. Things don’t get any easier when you reach France. The French drive on the left side of the road, while UK cars are all right hand driven. So it could be inconvenient driving on the left in a right hand drive car. The traffic in London and Paris can also be quite heavy, so that’s an additional problem you will have to deal with if you choose to drive yourself.It is therefore, much simpler and more convenient to just hop onto a bus or take the Eurostar. Both will get you to your destination in a hassle free way. With Eurostar you will get there in a little over two hours and get to enjoy the beautiful English and French countryside.
